D9 : Zonza – Porto-Vecchio

Previous Day Next Day

It is for the passage of the baker at the camping at 9am this morning that we set the alarm clock. Croissants, Pains au chocolat and bunk together with Corsican honey were a deluxe breakfast!

We then go for the Bavella montains. Dizzying roads, breathtaking scenery covered with pine, and desolation of burned forests are with us during this journey

Attracted by the freshness of the water, we grant us with a bath in the natural pools of the Solenzara river, where a few individuals of wildlife, such as eels and frogs, surprise us.

Returning to the car, we finally arrive on the seafront in Solenzara and continue along the Coast of Pearls. At 14:30 we arrive at the camping “Ilots d’Or” in Porto-Vecchio (contact info). After installation in our new camp, the afternoon is devoted to the tour of the beaches of the northern Gulf of Porto-Vecchio, and especially in San Ciprianu where we bathed. As luck would have it we arrived in Porto-Vecchio on July 14, which gave us an opportunity to celebrate the french national holiday and therefore to attend the fireworks from the harbor.
